We all have a favorite movie or a favorite director, some casual film goers may even have a favorite director without even realizing it. I've been talking about games a lot recently and today I thought I'd mix it up and share some of my favorite film directors with you all. These are the top 5 movie directors pf 2013.

2. Alfred Hitchcock
His father was a green grocer called William Hitchcock (1862 - 1914); his mother was Emma Jane Whelan (1863 - 1942), and he had two older siblings, William Hitchcock (born 1890) and Eileen Hitchcock(born 1892). He grew up in a very strict Roman Catholic family.

3. Woody Allen
Woody Allen was born on December 1, 1935, as Allen Konigsberg, in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of 15, he started selling one-liners to gossip columns. After working a while as a stand up comedian, he was hired to write What's New Pussycatin 1965. He directed his first film a year later, What's Up, Tiger Lily? in 1966.

4. Martin Scorecese
After serious deliberations about entering the priesthood, Martin Scorsese opted to channel his passions into film. He graduated from NYU as a film major in 1964. Catching the eye of producer Roger Corman with his 1960s student films (including co-editing Woodstock)

5. Stanley Kubrick
Stanley Kubrick was born in New York, and was considered intelligent despite poor grades at school. Hoping that a change of scenery would produce better academic performance, Kubrick's father Jack (a physician) sent him in 1940 to Pasadena, California, to stay with his uncle Martin Perveler. Returning to the Bronx in 1941 for his last year of grammar school.
